少年乐新知
I am an independent documentary filmmaker, multi-media journalist, and an outdoor explorer based in between New York City and China. I studied music and art history in undergraduate school before pursuing a masters degree in documentary filmmaking, where I found tremendous joy combining my love for adventures, meeting new people, and the strive to tell heart-moving stories.
My most recent project, Jilu Commune, is the first and perhaps the only free open source website dedicated to the nonfiction storytelling community based in China.
As a filmmaker, I’m particularly interested in exploring human relations to the mother earth, as well as the exploring ontology at large through cinema. As a producing collaborator, I’m obsessed with clear, detailed plannings, organizations, and I always try hard to make sure that the crew is fed with hearty meals!
Born and raised in Xi’an, China, where the Szechuan Alps embraces the ancient capital of the Silk Road, I developed deep love for mountains and ocean under the influence of my parents who love traveling for open landscapes. I am a PADI certified scuba diving instructor, a semi-professional vocalist, and I hold a French Culinary diploma.
